How can i determine time between welding current(weld2) and temper current (weld3) as most effective temper for RSW?

cooling time between w2 and w3 that is usually explained by cycle time is important to martensitic formation was complated. for this reason, any conclusion by cooling rate in RSW and uses TTT and CTT diagram could be recommended. however, my experimental result in various level of cooling time is differ by theoretical computing.

Determine the martensite formation temperature.
Allow for sufficent cooling for martensiet to form (e.g. M90%)
Determine a heating cycle to heat up the material that has transformed to sufficiently high temperatures to enable tempering, but don't exceed the austenite transformation temperatuur. For this simulation software (e.g. Sorpas) is very well suited.

I have described this procedure in several papers and presentations, see for instance:
