By this method, the volume of the sample is estimated by the mass of the volume that is displaced when the sample is submerged in a liquid. Special care should be taken to avoid the presence of air bubbles.
2_The density of the natural fiber composite materials using a polymeric matrix can be determined according to the standard ASTM D 792, using an analytical balance equipped with a stationary support for the immersion vessel. In this method it is used a solvent such as Water or Propanol as immersion liquid depending on the density of the composite.
