if it is microscope glass slides, they can be cut with diamond tip scriber, after scribing u can break the glass manually or using a plier if u have one...
You may buy a simple glas cutter in any store for building supplies. Simply scratch the surface once, so that a visible scratch exists. In a second step, you place a strip of plastic under the glass exactly at the position of the scratch. Then, in the last step, you take two plieces of plastic of suited size (thickness some 4-5 mm) and press both sides of the glass down. That should result in a sharp cut.
In general you should take care not to damage the surface of the glass by the splitters from the crack.
Actually, the diamond cutter is made for Tungsten carbide not from diamond. So it is very cheap. Also you can you the pen like shape of the glass cuteer because it is more easier than ordinary cutter
It's important the scratch extends to one side corner (where the crack should initiate from) and that you place the glass UPSIDE DOWN onto a slightly flexible substrate (e.g. a piece of cardboard or strong filter paper) rather than directly onto the flat and hard desk surface.Place another piece of cardboard on top and press hard on the front until you hear a click. Good luck.
We have exactly the same model, I can recommend it, for most purposes it is of real help. But do not forget to cut (and break) the glass symmetrically, this will make the preparation much more easy, also for larger pieces of glass! Best regards, Dirk
