For some reason the ArcGIS version that am using does not have the "Batch Create Elevation Points From DEM" extension yet it has all the other "Contour Tools". Now I have a DEM and would like to generate elevation points from the it. Any advice on how to tuckle this problem?
You could use conversion tool for feature to Point. We can get elevation details from contour as points.

if it means you want a text file from DEM then may use conversion tool in arc GIS (any version above than 9) or use Govindaraj .R 's answer
you can use measure the ground control points and then input it as text file in Arg gis to calculate the DEM

As suggested by Muhammad, you can generate an ASCII text file from your DEM by running the Raster to ASCII tool.
Alernatively, if you actually need points to be placed in the center of every DEM cell and then these points need to have the elevation attribute, try the Raster to Points conversion tool. You can choose the value of the raster to append to the points attribute table. You will get points placed in the center of your DEM cells, their x and y coordinates and (hopefully) elevation. If not, generate the points anyway and then use the extract by points tool to sample elevation values (DEM) based on point locations.
I am not sure if "Batch Create Elevation Points From DEM" is another name for the same tool, maybe a more recent version.

Any tool in ArcGIS can be used in batch in several ways: 1) right click on a tool and select "batch" 2) create a model ( with model builder ) that includes an iterator or 3) create a for loop in a Python script (you can export a model to a Python script in order to learn how they are built).
Now the tool to use depends on what you want to do. If you want to convert all points, then you can use "raster to point (Conversion)" (by carefull, this could end up with a really huge file). If you want to add the elevation values to an existing set of points, then you can use "extract multi value to point"(need spatial analyst extension, though).
In any case, I would think twice before converting a raster to points; maybe you could achieve what you want directly from the raster DEM.

Thank you everyone for the answers. Sorry for the late gratitude I somehow lost access to my Researchgate account for a while.
I was able to extract the points by creating sample points across the study area and extracting values to points in ArcGIS.
