I am trying to create a shear wall section with reinforcement in Abaqus. Anyone know how to do please help? The detailed drawing is attached in this message
first you create different parts of shear wall ie. main concrete section, reinforcement with appropriate geometry in part module.then go to material define all the material and after that section manager for creating sections as per your need.the most important thing in this type of difficult geometry of elements you must have good hand on assembly module.use embedded constraints for bond condition between steel and concrete.run the script.thats it.
you can create the whole reinforcement in Assembly section of ABAQUS and in top menu" instance" by using transit, rotate and.... For concrete section, you can use the same procedure
Check the layered shell elements option from the Theory/User manual. You can define reinforcement layers (area and spacing of reinforcement) at both sides of the shell element at a specific offset from the central plane. It works well for simple geometries and it is less computationally expensive than a a full 3-D approach..
