I am manually converting greyscale image intensity values into Housefield units (HU) by exporting them a x,y-intensity values using ImageJ. I am attemptimg at converting the 16 bit values to HU in ImageJ but I get an error. Once I convert this values, is there anyway to convert these x-y-intensity mapping to a dicom image??
Any input will be greatly appreciated

Hi,
if you have a matzrix and any idea about the pixel size any raw data can be converted into a DICOM image. I used a special version of imageJ for DICOM export: http://santec.tudor.lu/project/dicom/download

I guess that I should have said why I have the data as a matrix in the first place. I have a dicom data file that I attempted to convert to Hounsfield Units (HU) using ImageJ but I get an error and I think is that I am not correctly using the conversion functionality (if you know how to convert an image to the HU scale using ImageJ please let me know). So I exported the data as xy coordinates and z as intensity to perform the conversion to HU manually using a script and now I want to convert this data to dicom again.
I will go ahead and use Tudor and I'll let you know if it works

Hi, I cannot speak from experience but if you could make one of your original dicom data files available, I could have a look.
Seeing as the slope and intercept for the HU conversion should be readable in the original metadata, the conversion should be straightforward.
