Hi everyone,
I am trying to determine the burst pressure of a rubber hose. I have described the rubber as a Hyperelastic Yeoh material in abaqus, along with the constants. I will be providing experimental data in the future.
What I would like to know is:
1. For a hyperelastic material, is Abaqus Standard a good way to go, or Abaqus Explicit?
2. For performing the burst pressure analysis, how can I specify the damage limit/ criterion? (via Mullin's effect?)

For rubber contact analysis I have succesfully used Ogden strain energy potential in Abaqus/Standard. The important thing is that you have to choose carefully the right element type. I have been using CPE4RH hybrid element for rubber, which nicely worked.

Thank you for your answer. For the Ogden material constants, did you input the test data or the constants?
Are CPE4RH only solid-elements? My model is a rubber hose (very small thickness) which I am defining with S4R elements.
I got experimental stress-stretch ratio curve for the rubber specimen, thus I could fit the mu and alfa material parameters which are in the Ogden material model.
Yes, the CPE4RH are 2D plain strain elements, I see you would use shell element...
