Soil basal respiration is 1.2 mg CO2 - C kg-1 h-1
Soil induced respiration is 4.1 mg CO2 -C kg-1 h-1
So, I want to determine qCO2 from basal respiration SBR and SIR
I also want to convert SIR to microbial biomass.
mg CO2 kg-1h-1 x 0.27 = mg C kg-1 h-1
MW CO2 = 44, MW C = 12 Therefore 12/44 = 0.27
I do not know answer for conversion of SIR to microbial biomass.

The qCO2 is simply the basal respiration divided by the microbial biomass.

Thanks for all of you, but the problem is in the soil microbial biomass conversion. How do I convert SIR to microbial biomass. I know usually use this equation ( ul CO2 100g-1 soil h-1*40.04)+0.37 described by Andersson & Domsch but how I do convert mg CO2 TO ul CO2 to able to use the above equation.
