The digital elevation model includes elevated road and railway features overlaying river systems. In reality, water is carried through/below these structures; however, in the elevation model these features impede modelled surface flow.

Without modifications to the elevation surface, water flow is functionally dammed by the raised topography, creating artificial pooling of depressions on the upstream side. In order to map streams correctly, it is necessary to remove errors and artificial sinks in the digital elevation models. I have a model which creates a hydrologically enforced DTM, however there is still the issue of these raised structures as seen by the images attached. The second image RG2 has the UK river system overlayed. How can I combat these raised structures so that the DEM can be properly hydrologically connected?
