I am trying to produce calcium metal by molten salt electrolysis. I use tin as cathode in the system, but I cannot obtain calcium in a single phase. When I try to collect it on the tungsten cathode, when the electrolysis ends, the calcium metals immediately react and oxidize. How can I collect at maximum efficiency without an inert atmosphere ?

You may try using tungsten cathode method and in order to protect your product you may use kerosene (gaz yağı) for reduced reactivity. Please note that kerosene is flammable. it is only for protecting the product (not to be used during the electrolysis).
Calcium is somehow different than potassium or sodium metals which are both kept in kerosene in pure case.
