Hello every one,
I am working on photocatalytic hydrogen production. I got the polarization curve, then I drew log(-j) vs. potential from this figure. The plots are attached below. Can I fit the Tafel equation at around onset potential? Or should I find a linear region around 0.5 to 1 V?
I would appreciate if you can help me to find the appropriate region for Tafel.

There are three different polarization zones in pottentiodynamic polarization curves including linear polarization zone(OCP-20 mV to OCP+20 mV), Tafel zone or charge transfer polarization zone (the linear zone on cathodic and anodic branches excluding the linear polarization zone) and diffusion polarization zone in which the potential changes dramatically in a critical current iD.
So, for Tafel zone you need to find a zone in which E versus log i is a straight line because Tafel formula is E= (Beta) log i
