If only have data as below:
-Assume fine bubble aeration tank system
- Operating temp at 30 degree C
- Max air flow of fine bubble diffuser is 5 m3/h (at STD 20 degree C)
- SOTE = 6.5% per meter depth
- Assume tank has 5 meter depth
- Use blower driven 0.75 kW (1HP)

The HRT of an aeration tank is determined by dividing the volume of the aera- tion tank (gallons) by the flow rate through the aeration tank (Equation I. 4). The flow rate through the aeration tank must be expressed as gallons per hour (gph).

You can install a manometer on the tank. Close completely the tank. Introduce a constant aer flow rate in the tank and begin to count the time until the pressure at the manometer begins to rise. Then the volume of the tank V=Qt, where Q is the flow rate ant t the time.
