I need a ultrasonic sensor that can reach 60m. I have some good transducers, but I can measure its ultrasound only a few meter away. If i just use a simple horn made of pet bottle, I can increase the range about 3 times. Of course, if a property horn is used, the efficiency will be improved. Do someone know how to calculate its geometry or indicate a book that can help me?

A simple exponential horn is the best way to minimize impedance losses and give you the largest detection area for reception.
What you also need to do is to minimize the losses and the noise in your system.
I strongly suggest looking at the absorption function of air and perhaps choosing different transducers: losses increase as the frequency rises. Choose your front-end electronics with care - instrumentation-grade op-amps are worth the extra effort.
What are your transducers for transmission and detection? The driving circuitry can also be optimized to find the best Q of the transducers.

There are U/S sensors available that are commonly used for range detection and distance measurements. I believe you must be using one such that is easily and cheaply available in the electronics stores. Well, if you observe the sensor (or for that matter the Transmitter and receiver pair) each one is having its small metal cone/horn fitted to the crystal. So, in my opinion, there are 2-3 parameters that you need to look for - 1) The Crystal diameter/size; 2) The material for the horn and lastly but important - 3) The drive signal to the crystal/transducer.
Just a suggestion - in the present condition try to increase the drive signal and see what improvements (increase) in the distance you can achieve. Then you can mimic or scale-up the horn based on the tiny horn/cone I mentioned as above for your requirements. Another way is to place the crystal/transducer to the base of a small random designed horn/cone. Please feel free to discuss more if you need! Thanks.
