How can I calculate the distances between two particles from their superposition states in quantum computing? I have already calculated the positions of particles with different probability through discrete quantum walk. Now I want to evaluate the distance from their current states.
I think the mean distance equals integral (dr1)(dr2)|Psi(r1,r2)|2|r2 - r1|
In mathematical sense : if you have two positions - then you are able to figure out the distance ( difference of 2 locations) in the same way as you find the locations.
But besides: are these two particles entangled? That's important.
A position is one part of a quantum state (=> quantum number). The superposition is defined by probabilities of each involved quantum state). I think that's a mixture now - therefor it's not exact solvable.
