I trapped soil CO2 in NaOH and analyzed on Analtik jena N/C 3100, Instrument gave reading in mg/L. How can I calculate the CO2-C in mg/kg soil or in any other units etc.
It is indirect titration. Loss in NaOH is equivalent to the amount of CO2.
To make the calculation easy, first calculate "how many mg of CO2 can be traped in NaOH of a particular strength. Once you come across the results in grams, you can calculate the desired concentration from the sample taken.
Conc in mg/kg=
Results from NaOH*Kg/Sample wt
If you give me the strength of NaOH (concentration), I can explain it further.
