Dear All, How can I calculate and represent data in the form of PLI and Cd for paper. My Study on Heavy metal of River, Site: 10, Sample Collection: Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon and Post-Monsoon. Please give a example and formula for this calculation.
I presume you are referring to sediments. A good data representation could be mapping the index results with geostatistical techniques (such as kriging using Surfer software et simila).

Hello. You must precise if you have dissolved, particulate or sediment concentrations.
PLI= (CF1×CF2×CF3×…….CFn)1/n
Where CF metals is the ratio between the content of each metal to the background values,
CF metals=CH metal/CH back
where CH metal is the concentration of the examined heavy metal and CH back is background value of heavy metal, respectively.
For calculating of PLI in a sampling site, you have to calculate CF for various metal in a site .
