I have a data set wherein I have analyzed EPSP amplitude and observed LTP. However, I have noticed that some manuscripts report amplitude changes for this type of data whereas others report slope.

I am wondering how to best analyze the slope of the EPSP so that I can also make this comparison within my data.

What I am considering is identifying the maximum slope within a 0.5 ms interval and fitting this region of my data to 'straight line' function within clampfit to return a slope value. I have attached an example image of this analysis (blue line fit). Would this way of analyzing this data be appropriate? What is the best way to analyze this property? Is there an alternative fit function or interval selection criteria I should be using instead?
