As free radicals are responsible for cell damage, then it should be safe for cancer cells as well. Anti-cancer agent means something that cause damage cancer cells. Then how could it is possible that an extract having good amount of phenolics and antioxidant activity will also show anti-cancer activity? Curious to know. Kindly elaborate?

the first hypothesis which relates free radicals to increased risk of cancer was the toxic byproducts of free radicals to biomolecules such as MDA and HNE, in addition free radicals related to nucleic acid mutations. On the other hand, the protective role of antioxidant may affect the gene regulation of apoptosis an specifically the p53 and as a result the "beneficial" antioxidant will be inhibited the cancer cell death.
