May I know how to extract required data for meta-analysis? For example, the inclusion criteria of our review is only limited to participants over 60 years of age. How can we extract data from the included study which collected data from participants of age range between 18 to 70 years. Shall we exclude this study or shall we ask raw data from the corresponding author of this paper and extract data only for participants of 60 to 70 years of age?
I agree with Abdelrahman Ibrahim Abushouk . I study meta analysis. Set your inclusion criteria clearly. But ıf you want to study with mixed data ( 18-70), you will send message corresponding author of the study. I saw an article, there were data via sending messages to authors ( you can see ı mentioned paper: Social networksite use and academic achievement: Ameta-analysis- Computers & Education, 2018, 76-83.
Applying restriction in age can be troublesome because authors may not categorize the age groups in a consistent way, unless you have some justification applying the specific cut-off.
You may try a less stringent inclusion criteria, then look through the groupings that the articles have used.
