This research explores the design, deployment, and effectiveness of e-commerce systems in enhancing food security within developing economies. It focuses on how technical architectures—such as cloud-based platforms, mobile commerce (m-commerce), and API-integrated logistics networks—can streamline agricultural value chains. The study will analyze how real-time inventory management, geospatial tracking, and digital payment systems impact food availability, accessibility, and affordability. Particular attention will be given to how scalable solutions address infrastructural limitations like unreliable electricity, poor internet penetration, and limited device access in rural areas. Case studies from Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Nigeria, will be used to evaluate platform performance under diverse socio-technical conditions. The research also investigates cybersecurity concerns, data interoperability, and the integration of blockchain for transparent agri-commerce. Outcomes will inform best practices for developing resilient, inclusive e-commerce ecosystems that contribute meaningfully to national food security strategies in low- and middle-income countries.
