Hi Sureshkumar. The composition on the adsorbent surface is in equilibrium with the composition in the fluid. for each composition in the fluid exist a different composition on the adsorbent surface. As a matter of fact, an increase in the composition in the fluid, promote an increase in the surface composition. the constants values in the Langmuir equation are the line slope and the intercept. Langmuir theory does not predict multiple steady states. However, if the Ce / qe vs. Ce had a S-shape, this would indicate the existence of multiple steady states. In the case of coupling mass and energy transfer or mass transfer and autocatalysis, this type of behavior is possible. Of course, the mathematical description would be different.

Once more. Are you talking about several Ce values for the same Ce / qe or vice versa (multiple stationary states). If so, then the isotherm must have a parabolic shape or as I have written above the shape of letter S. Find the information in the book on bifurcation theory.
