My organization has a problem with what has traditionally been called "silos". The sales group is measured by how much they sell to the consumer. The operations group is measured by how much they produce. The distribution group is measured by how much they deliver to the consumer. It is my belief that these competing priorities are the potential cause for such strife within the organization. My company president wants to know how we can create unity in the face of these competing priorities. How do we create a singular message that has the consumer as the singular focus and increase overall sales? After all, in any organization, including the university, we do not exist without the consumer happily purchasing our products. What are your thoughts?
