The thermal diffusion length is defined as TDL=(D/pi f)^1/2, where D is thermal diffusivity and f is the modulation frequency, so that you can determine TDL for different frequencies if D is well-known. You can determine D from the experimental curve of photoacouctic (PA) signal amplitude as a function of f (or using the PA phase versus f curve). There are several methods for measuring D.
