Hi All,
I want to calculate PDR of a wireless network in a highway scenario when nodes are mobile and periodically sending data at a certain fixed rate.
This is what i have developed my understanding of compiling results, i request experts to comment on the following:
1. Due to mobility there may be nodes out of range of transmitting node(s) and some within the range of transmitting nodes. How can I know what nodes were within the range of transmitting nodes or else, if the range is important considering mobility in this case?
2. Then how I can calculate PDR since one packet transmission can be received by all nodes within the range or maybe missed by some nodes as during mobility they may observe channel fading or go out of range?
2. Finally for the PDR of the network, do we need to calculate the PDR of each group with transmitters and receivers in a range?
I was not able to find any ns-3 script for this scenario, scripts, and comments on my supposed methodology are highly appreciated.
If you are using ns-3, and PDR refers to Packet Delivery Rate, I understand that you must count the packets correctly received at each node during the simulation, using the resulting trace file, to get the overall network packet delivery rate by summing up the PDR of each node.

You can take a look at NetSim’s VANET module https://tetcos.com/vanets.html. You can easily get these metrics from the results tables or the packet trace
