The biological element may be attached to the surface by different manners - adsorption, covalent bonding, entrapment and doping. For example, if you have a polymer, containing functional groups, capable to react with specific biological object (organ tissue, enzyme or even enzyme factor and cofactor), the biological object will be immobilized.
