Hi all
I'm working on strengthened a cracked steel plate with CFRP. I am using a continuum shell elements and Hashin’s damage model for the composite to model the CFRP. I also defined damage evolution.
I am doing the following steps to remove the damaged elements;
1) Step/ Field output request/ state / activate status
2) Mesh / Element type / Element deletion: YES,
BUT no element deleted
Any idea or suggestion will be appreciated
Are you sure that the damage variable reaches the value one in an element (for deletion)?
You can check by activating the corresponding Field Output variable and look at your contour plot.

yes I did activated these variables DAMAGEFT, DAMAGEFC, DAMAGEMC, DAMAGEMT and STATUS.
and only DAMAGEFT shows 1.0 and the STATUS still =1 and the elements did not deleted.
As far as I know if DAMAGEFT=1.0 then STATUS=0 and the elements should be deleted
correct me if I am not right?
