Starting from personal & patient safety issues within hospital in terms of widespread emergence sntimicrobial infections, infections affecting the hospital staff to now acquiring a community wide expansion, all led to mismanaged hospital waste practices. The issue has gone serious both the patients now not responding conventional antibiotics to both morecaffected by serious infections. This has not only added to payltient misery but also affected the healthcare economics.

Medical waste management has not received much attention in developing countries. Segregation into risk and non risk waste is usually not performed. Workers have little awareness of hazards associated, and disposal techniques are poor. There is also lack of awareness at health policy and law levels.
The management of health-care waste requires increased attention and diligence to avoid adverse health outcomes associated with poor practice, including exposure to infectious agents and toxic substances.
Key elements in improving health-care waste management are:
promoting practices that reduce the volume of wastes generated and ensure proposer waste segregation;
developing strategies and systems along with strong oversight and regulation to incrementally improve waste segregation, destruction and disposal practices with the ultimate aim of meeting national and international standards;
where feasible, favouring the safe and environmentally sound treatment of hazardous health care wastes (e,g, by autoclaving, microwaving, steam treatment integrated with internal mixing, and chemical treatment) over medical waste incineration;
building a comprehensive system, addressing responsibilities, resource allocation, handling and disposal. This is a long-term process, sustained by gradual improvements;
raising awareness of the risks related to health-care waste, and of safe practices; and
selecting safe and environmentally-friendly management options, to protect people from hazards when collecting, handling, storing, transporting, treating or disposing of waste.
Government commitment and support is needed for universal, long-term improvement, although immediate action can be taken locally.
Hospitalization of patients is associated with high risks:
a) to get infected from previous patients who used to lie on the same beds
b) to get infected from medical devices that were previously used on previous patients

"The hospital is the most dangerous place for health. 10 people died before you died on this bed. The corpses were carried away, but the microbes remained on this bed. And you put your grandmother there for inspection. The fact is that nosocomial infection is a colossal threat. In the same intensive care unit, if a person gets there, there is a 50 percent chance that he will definitely get an infection precisely because of the respiratory system from the bacteria that live there and which cannot be eradicated. The hospital can be blown up and built elsewhere, but in six months there will be the same thing".
What to do? In my opinion, it is much safer to just bring the patient from his home to the hospital and then take him back home. True, it is very inconvenient and might be expensive, but it is more reliable way. As for medical equipment like breathing apparatus and others, they should be thoroughly cleaned. If this cannot be done and the patients understand this, then they must spend the money to purchase individual medical devices. In my opinion, it would be much cheaper than to spend a lot of money on fighting infections from previous patients. I do not know, maybe I'm wrong.
