Could you please help me to figure out:
1). What are the advantages of using homodyne detection in free space optical communication system.
2). What can be the potential challenges in the implementation of homodyne detection based FSO link.
3). Is homodyne detection better option than heterodyne detection and Why?

Dear Sahil,
1) Homodyne performs significantly lower but it is easier to implement.
2) Homodyne involves complex theoretical calculations.
3) Homodyne is easier to deal with but heterodyne provides much better performance though quite complex to implement, especially from hardware perspective.
