i think u can use DMC as a methylating agent in presence of zeolites.it is a vapour phase reaction at ambient pressure and elevated temperatures.

To a solution of isoeugenol (1 eq) in ethanol at 0 oC temperature under nitrogen, add a solution of NaOH (2 eq) in EtOH. Then stir for 15 min at room temperature. Add dimethyl sulfate (2eq) and allow the reaction mixture to reflux for 5 h to get your required methylated product with good yield.
