Hi, i am looking for a survey questionnaire which involves the marketing mix strategy and purchase decision? Help will be appreciated if anyone came across this question on researchgate. THank you very much!
The start of any questionnaire lies with the objectives of the research. Hence while you can perhaps find some innovative ways of asking questions, you probably will not find a questionnaire that you can just take off the shelf. The other problem is that different strategies are used in the various industries – e.g. in healthcare you want to influence prescribers, FMCG you need to influence consumers, business goods need to impress technical buyers or a committee and so on.
So, I’m assuming you already have established and understand the target market for your product. (i.e. you have identified who is buying the product and who is the user – where, how, and why people use it. Is it the target market you want to reach?) Only then can you ask the questions that will inform the marketing mix essentials.
Your enquiry should also examine how the various brands in the market present themselves. Examine how the market leader positions itself. Important to explore which aspects of their mix are most influential in the consumer decision. Some thoughts about the information you could use to build your mix:
· Price: tends to be an important element of the mix – but it may not be related to the ability to purchase. You may need to ask: What does ‘price’ say about the person buying the product? How do they (want to) pay for the goods? Is price related to the quality level of the product?
· Product: What must the product do? What do people need; what do they want; does the product you are exploring fulfil these requirements?
· Place: Where do people want to obtain the product? What is convenience?
· Promotion: Where do they get information about the product? What ‘message’ will convince them this is for them? (Note that ‘message’ is not just words, but the entire impression of the brand’s presence.)
· Packaging: Does the packaging contribute to the brand image in a positive way? Is the packaging in line with the way the consumers use the product?
· People: Are the people associated with the brand the ‘right’ ones? Here thinking of spokespeople, sales, advertising cast, consumer service centres, ethics and values of the organization itself.
· Physical: how do the delivery vans, company leaflets, company premises all contribute to the brand image and desirability?
The end message is that a standard questionnaire may need to be adapted to your situation.
