Hi Scholars, I am confused between theoretical & practical implications and also theoretical & practical contributions so, How to distinguish between them?
Just go back to your results and findings and try to classify them into two groups by asking yourself which one can help solving practical problems or real cases and which one contributes to the body of the knowledge add/support some theoretical issues?
A theoretical & practical contribution provides a value-added contribution to current thinking which not necessarily means totally new theories. However, modifications or extensions of current theories should alter scholars’ extant views in important ways. The degree of a theory’s contribution or quality (how different it is from current thinking) . Theoretical & practical implications the effects of the results can help practice and policy-makers to make decisions.
Research implications suggest how the findings may be important for policy, practice, theory, and subsequent research. Research implications are basically the conclusions that you draw from your results and explain how the findings may be important for policy, practice, or theory. However, the implications need to be substantiated by evidence and the study's parameters need to be explained and the limitations taken into account to avoid over-generalization of results.
