Violence, conflicts and bullying worry at school. Numerous projects and actions can go through the increase of communication competence and the application of its resources and techniques.
I'am working in some mentoring programs within schools. I have a master student who started a school based program with 9 to 10 years old children. One of the core strategies in increase the communicative competence of children. The results are pretty good when you analyze the number of conflicts. You can see more about this kind of programs in the Professor DuBois home page: https://www.ihrp.uic.edu/researcher/david-dubois-phd
I hope that you are familiar with the concept of the Peaceable School. Here in Utrecht about 80% of the primary schools are Vreedzame School (Peaceable School). I am not sure if there are outcome measures concerning communication, but i do know that it helps to provide a more safe atmosphere in the schools. The program is based on the promotion of citizenship, meaning that not only individual skills are promoted, but the focus is on improving the common welfare and environment. In that sense children are taught to mediate in conflicts among children and that really boosts self esteem of the students. If you want to know more, i can provide information >>> [email protected]
