Recruiting for a current study of new mothers. If this information could be passed on to any mothers who fit the criteria that would be fantastic. It is a 5-10 minute online survey.

The University of Liverpool is looking for mothers who are aged 18 and over and have a full-term infant aged 0-6 months to complete a survey. This study involves sensitive topics e.g., negative mental health experiences, so we urge you not to take part if you feel that answering sensitive questions might be harmful to you. Taking part in this study also involves answering questions on how you feel about your body, which might be distressing for some people e.g., those experiencing body dysmorphia. For this reason, we urge you not to take part if you feel that answering questions about your body might be too upsetting or uncomfortable for you. Because of this we also ask that you do not take part if you have a current, or historic diagnosis of a mental health disorder. All participants are required to have knowledge of the English Language to a degree where they will be able to understand the written information provided.

If you agree to take part, you will complete questionnaires about infant feeding (how you wanted to feed your baby in pregnancy, how you started feeding your baby after giving birth, and how you feed your baby now), how much or how little you tend to self-objectify (focusing on your body as an object and/or having submissive tendencies), guilt, shame, depression and anxiety experiences which you may or may not have had. This will help us understand more about the relationship between maternal mental health and infant feeding so that we can better support new mums. The research team are not clinically trained to provide mental health support if you become upset while completing this survey. Although, we can give you the contact details for relevant mental health services.

The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete, thank you for your time. Please click on the link below to go to the questionnaire. All responses are completely anonymous.
