Beta vulgaris has an inhibitor in it's outer woody seed coat that is best prewashed out before commencing a germination test. Just wondering if you need to do that prewash step if you are going to put the seed in a water chamber at 41 degs for 72 hours.

Pre-washing and accelerated ageing are different concept. Washing seeds before accelerated ageing will increase seed moisture and increase the effect of accelerated ageing

Beet seed are a tricky case, as they tend to need the inhibitory substance washed off to enable germination to occur, hence why I was curious about that step being necessary for the AA test. But yes, I agree that it would be best to avoid that step, and just put the seeds straight into the AA chambers without prewashing.
