I am working on the simulation of the FCC downer reactor using the fluent software wit "Modeling Collision Using the DEM Model". I would like to know the method of selecting the values of the "DEM Collision Settings dialog box" as in the attached word image.

As far as i can conclude from your upload choose whatever normal and tangential force law you want to use for your simulation work.for more details on the contact force law visit the link below.

Use the default model constants first and then change the model constants slightly to compare the results with the results of the some experiments.

It is logical to use experimental approach to define the values, but the number of unknown variables (around 8 which make it so difficult to get their values) . No body even mentioned that they use such approach.
