it is possible to determinate heavy metals by AAS . kindly follow instruction manual and procedure for operation, sample preparation , types of heavy metals and analysis. All available in published literature , on line information also available.

can you please elaborate more? what is your sample type liquid or solid? state the amount of sample used in digestion and the final volume of sample with correct unit (ml or g?). as well as the dilution factor if applicable...

My samples are water. I used 50 mL for digestion and final is 100mL. The reading from final volume is 0.2 μg/mL.

for liquid sample,

M1V1 = M2V2

M1(50 ml) = 0.2 μg/mL (100ml)

M1 = 0.2 μg/mL (100ml) / 50 ml

M1 = 0.4 μg/mL

element in sample is 0.4 μg/mL

* the calculation will be different a bit for solid samples.

* the reading you get from aas need to minus with blank if it is not done automatically.

First you must make stanard calibration curve for metal within range of analyte sample Then measure the sample in atomic absorption spectrometer you will get absorbance of sample.From standard claibration curve you can calucalte the con centration of metal in sample.using equation C n sample =Cs*As/A n sample
