I've used this app with the Polar H7 to assess HRV responses to various fluid ingestion (water, Gatorade). The RR intervals export as a .csv file that can easily be used in Kubios.

When you try to import your data into Kubios, you have to say what data you are bringing in. If you already transformed the data into csv or txt you may have to change from .hrm (polar) to ASCII-files (txt, csv, etc). What you can do is importing directly as a polar file without transforming it into txt,csv. Hope it will be tht easy as I said and not something more difficult.

Caso meu inglês tenha ficado difícil de entender, na janela de importanção do kubios, ao lado do nome do arquivo tem o formato que você quer importar. Tente alterar esse formato antes ou até mesmo importar diretamente como arquivo do Polar, sem transformá-lo em txt ou csv.

Thank you for your replies. I will present the information I have aquired so far:

- The problem with the error presented in question 1 occurred because the polar flow site/app does not export RR data. A particular app is required to do that. I use at this point Elite HRV and this issue was solved.

- On the second issue there are a lack of solutions. Polar technical support suggests V800 or polar team export. Both solutions does not work with H10 polar and/or simultaneous bands.

The Elite HRV app works very well with the H10 - you can download RR interval data as text files.

I can confirm that if you use Polar Beat App with the H10 belt, you don't get RR interval data from Polar Flow. If you have the Polar V800 monitor you can use the RR Recording Test and then you get RR data from Polar Flow.

Elite HRV App is one solution for this issue. It supports H10 belt (and any other bluetooth belt), you can make RR recordings with the App and export all your recordings into CSV files which can be analysed with Kubios.

Yes I agree with Mika. I am currently using the Elite HRV app with the H10 belt and then analysing with Kubios. Works like clockwork.

Once you get the file you gotta import it into Kubios with notepad.

I am also using the Polar H10 with the Elite HRV App and analyzing in Kubois. The Elite HRV app is very easy to set up, the data is easily exported & emailed to you instantly as a text file (.txt). I would definitely recommend this method, both Elite HRV and Kubois are free (unless you upgrade to the premium version of Kubois).

Just make sure all researchers in your lab who will be making recordings have the Elite HRV app downloaded & account set-up before they want to record, unless you have a dedicated phone for this.

Premium is our full featured HRV analysis software and typically this is what I would recommend for researchers. Main advantages of the Premium (compared to Standard) are the support for ECG and PPG data (if you measure these), automatic artefact correction (accurate correction of missed, extra and misaligned, including ectopic, beats), time-varying analysis features, more flexible result export options, and also the Polar Flow export functionality (if you use Polar devices in data collection). Il vous restitue l’analyse complète. Le problème réside au niveau de l’interprétation des normes ! L'article de Nunan 2010 ne donne pas de valeurs définitive selon le sexe et l'age.

Has anyone tried connecting multiple Polar H10 or H7 devices to a single mobile device? And what app would you recommend for such a venture?

Hi Mika. So after playing with an HM10, an Empatica E4 and the Kubios app, it appears that a Polar device is needed to collect R-R Data with the Polar apps (to export to kubios via polar flow)? I couldn't get it to work without one, anyways. It seems that the Empatica E4 data can be read by Kubios Premium (as a custom file starting on line 3 (after the two header lines)).

The Elite HRV app seems to work well with the Polar HM10 and has a nice interface. Kubios Premium reads it too - there must be an easier way to do it than trial and error on all of the settings, but I haven't found it yet!

Hi, does anybody know away to get the empatica E4 files to be properly analysed by Kubios standard? Why do I need Premium to 'read' these files properly? Im wondering whether formating the E4 output file properly would enable kubios Standard to read it properly. Unfortunately Premium is a bit pricey for a PhD student.

Christian Criado-Pérez ,The IBI data exported from Empatica E4 can be easily read into Kubios HRV Standard ("Custom ASCII files" input option and then indicate that RR data is given in seconds on the 2nd column). Note that the time scale of the recording does not necessarily be realistic. This is because the E4 stores only good quality RR intervals, not store the raw RR intervals in the file (i.e. you might have long gaps in the IBI values). How the Premium can help in this matter is that it can read in the PPG data of E4, to have the raw data for beat detection and analysis. In general, the PPG measurement is however often more noisy and beat detection less accurate when compared to HR sensors or ECG devices.

Pamela Palmer, If you have a Polar H10 chest strap and a Polar wrist device as well as Kubios HRV Premium, I don't see what for you need the Empatica E4 anymore. You can make recordings with the Polar devices (use any training mode you want), sync to your Polar Flow account and then export the RR data from Polar Flow using Kubios HRV Premium.

Better to use the EliteHRV app. With this program, you can easily record Heart Rate with RR interval, and its file will be sent to your email that you can download through the program records for each person and analyze it with Kubios.
