I never met Brucellosis as a cause of septic loosening of THR. Osteoarticular involvement of the axial skeleton is the most presentation of Brucella infection. The most commonly affected joints in our material are sacroiliacal joint and second is knee.
That is impossible to say. i practically get pessimistic in those cases. I had to remove those aseptic loosening implant and converted them to Girdlestone procedure for making the patient mobile though with an Aid and some degree of limpdue to leg shortening but most are happy as the Patient asked for a positive answer of cure ,contrary to others , I supported my decision for Girdlestone
I agree with you to some extent. When adequate antibiotics are used there is a better chance to cure the site. In these cases one or two staged re-replacement may work.
