High temperature increases in bone can damage the bone tissue.
We want to optimize parameters to decrease the temperature to reduse tissue damage.
Researchs say some parameters affecting on the temperature changes during jawbone drilling; Parameters like: Sharpness of drill bit head angle, reduction of drill bit rotational speed, increasing drill bit feed rate and exerted force on drill bit and also the use of irrigation played effective roles in temperature decrease during jawbone drilling.
Does Specifically "the site of drilling" matter on temprature changes when we are drilling?
How we can measure its effect?
Bone undergoes necrosis at about 47 degrees. There is very littel research relating drill design to bone reaction. Some implant companies provide drills with internal and external irrigation but there is no rationale to support whether this is better than external alone. Intermittent drilling is better than continuous. The mandible, particularly anterior where there is type one bone is harder to drill than posterior and the maxilla generally. People have looked at this using ex-vivo models and thermal sensitive imaging, but unless the bone sample is at body temperature to begin with the changes in temperature recorded will not translate to the in vivo situation.

ın preparation of dental inplant cavities thesegolden rules has to be taken into consideration the drills have to be sharp the puncture of the cavity must be done with the smallest diameter bur which must reach the desired depth then following burs must have slowly increasing diameters burs must be irrigated continously during working drilling must be intermittend and must be done without a shaking hand not force should be exerted mandubula has compact bone especially in the frontal section must be carefull for that part but before every think patient general healthy and quality and quantity of bone must be evaluated and examined very carefully.
Yes definitely it affects the temp changes. Different bones have different properties and with the change in property the level of thermal damage may vary.
