I was thinking about when the indutrial age appeared and moths in London soon turned black. When the pollution faded, they became white again.

There's also some Chernobyl dogs that have learned to exist around the radiation, over 30 or so years, their genetics have altered to withstand the radiation. They are the same as other dogs, just with an extra adaption.

So i was wondering if this speed of genetic alterations/adaptations has been consistant since the dawn of life, or whether this is something that nature has learned gradually/slowly until "it" improved? ... Can nature improve how fast/better/different it adapts or has each creature got a certain rate/range of adaptations installed in their genes?
