Can Human Scientists keep up? Is the modern role of scientists now to control, rather than develop?
Who is the master and who is the slave?
That seems to be a good discussion...Following...we are the master right now but this could change in decades....AI is advancing rapidly and everywhere accept or disapprove....
Despite numerous achievements, Internet, AI, and robots are just at the onset of their history yet. They are great tools, and even being dangerous sometimes. Nevertheless, those are just tools - professional usage of them and other ones facilitate discoveries, but requires a masterful knowledge of those and similar tools' utilization.
That is a threshold for being a productive scientist gets raised. However, we do not see other than natural human minds capable of uncovering new knowledge either in sciences or technologies.
Tools can help a lot in synthesis, and combinations, but dramatically behind humans in imagination. Dr. Einstein believed that imagination is the most priceless of human mind capabilities, and it seems like he was right, as well as in many other scientific issues.

I am leaving this out here, as a discussion point.
So, here a human developer works on AI, to defeat a Human chess player.
What if an AI developer works on a similar strategy based attack? Not only in chess, but on the battlefield or in CyberWar?
In my opinion, the machines (Tech, robots, AI etc) were created by human scientists to perform mundane tasks that were already being performed by humans. This was to allow humans time and energy to focus on other equally pressing tasks to advance global economy and welfare. It is however very obvious that the machines have powerful potentials similar to humans now. Therefore, in my opinion, humans will become slaves to the machines only when humans become lazy.
Slowly we are taking away from the human element of being clinicians, scientists, teachers and researchers.
Some may see this as advance.
I do not.
We are a communal species. We thrive on sincere appropriate acknowledgement, looking into somebody‘s eyes and feeling human touch. Is science or research any different?
We should rather try to be better at being human!
Dear Fazleh Mahomed If I would like to add on further, as you implied in your reply; there is a big danger if another AI algorithm creates another Robocop type AI. Than we all would be slaves of AI or danger of extinction. I think AI is a friend rather than a foe, but sensitive approach should be taken about AI quality and assurance issues For the future and make sure AI enhanced fighting robots should not triggered wars...
A good question, that is in the near future, human is the main product of technology, but then these technological revolutions (the age of complete robotism) can turn into a curse that can not be controlled and that human is a slave rather than a master.
