I am trying to optimize a confocal setup capable of both TCSPC and FCS measurements.  The TCSPC measurements are okay, but the FCS curves always display these strange oscillations.  I have attempted to investigate many potential culprits, but I am not sure what is responsible.  I have the following theories:  1) Maybe, radio waves from the Fianium AOTF are interfering with our Perkin Elmer APD.  2) The oscillations are due to computer-generated noise (Our TimeHarp 200 card is inserted inside a computer).  3)  The APD is fiber coupled.  I know that fibers can complicate measurements due to loss of signal and modal dispersion.  If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!
