In the liver clinic where I trained we used to describe fine tremors, course tremors (or pre-asterixis) and frank asterixis.  I am not sure if that is what is meant by the asterixis severity scale.

I think the scale was referred from "Quantifying the severity of hepatic encephalopathy. In: Conn H, Bircher J, ed. Hepatic encephalopathy.
