The problem is to detect very thin linear defects called kissing bonds using a radiography device of high geometrical magnification, which is only feasible with the microfocus tube.
I know this paper but they didn't use the microfocuse tube. Anyway I have found a place where I can have access to such an equipment and hope to evaluate it for my purpose
For those interested. I have carried out radiography experiments with a microfocus X-ray source and large flat panel detector. Geometrical magnification 40x has been achieved and this allowed detecting small segments belonging to Lazy S flaws in friction stir welded aluminum alloy.
