do you have experience with using already validated questions (for various constructs, e.g. construct to assess risk behavior, construct to assess school performance) in your own survey questionnaire?
I intend to build up a survey instrument using already validated questions from other surveys...

Sure you can use already validated instruments to build up your own constructs. In my own research, I utilised three instruments to build up the constructs for my questionnaire. This was however piloted to address potential deficiencies during the main study, a reliability analysis using SPSS was also used to measure the internal consistency of the constructs.

I have also used validated questions from different studies to build my own instrument.
In order to test validity and reliability of your questions, you may want to try the Survey Quality Predictor tool from the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. You can access it using this link http://sqp.upf.edu/ . You would have to answer a group of questions for each question that you want to measure.

As I guess I need to conduct two tests to check validity and reliability of the questions. These are about 7 constructs which measure 7 variables (e.g. construct with 5 questions to measure smoking status, or construct with 6 questions to measure risk behavior). They have been picked up from various studies or survey instruments.
