there has been an interesting work (Nishimoto et al. 2011) that tried to reconstruct video clips watched by a subject via an "video clip averaging method" .

The basic procedure is that subjects have to watch hours and hours of video material and fMRI signals are being recorded while they do so. Later, when they watch a new clip (or e.g. fall asleep and dream, as in your case), the BOLD signal has to be recorded again. Then you have to chose the previously watched clips with the best matching BOLD signal patterns, average them voxel by voxel and see what you get.
Although they did not analyze sleep stages, this might be an approach to compare "dream states" with previously received inputs. However I am not sure if the mental images of dreams can be translated into pictures or clips that make sense to someone else...

et al. 1995; Krakow et al. 2001a). Dream content is depicted in an image as the basis for the development of coping strategies.

I read your comment but i meant can we save dreams as a video file?
Despite serious attempts made by different research groups over the past few years - as evident with the number of different links provided in the previous comments - these attempts remain preliminary; however, they show promises.
From the obtained results, it seems that researchers are tapping into the right locations of the brain. But, it will take some time before researchers will be able to faithfully decode the dream images into a recorded video.
