To my knowledge, there isn't a specific standard guideline or reporting framework for review of reviews. However, some general principles from the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analyses could be applied in reporting review of reviews.

Thanks Jakub. That's a nice guideline but it is more related to a systematic review of systematic reviews as it has many items related to the risk of bias and the quality of the included reviews. My paper is a review of reviews and I have included all kinds of reviews (systematic reviews, literature reviews, scoping reviews and etc.). So, I would say it might be called a scoping review of reviews!

and about your project, I think a review of reviews that includes all kinds of reviews, is a complicated project and you can not combine studies with different methodological heterogeneity. For designing an umbrella review, we first need systematic reviews with a specific and consistent review question.
Dear Behzad, if you have any doubts about which guidelines you should choose, I would recommend the book "Systematic Approaches to a Successful Literature Review" (3rd edition). It sounds that scoping meta-review or mapping review would fit your goals. Thanks for your insights. I see and I won't combine the studies like an umbrella review. As I said before, my research question is more like a scoping review, summarizing the results of other reviews and giving the readers the current knowledge gaps in the field of study.

Regarding the guideline, I agree that I can use the guideline of the scoping reviews on original articles for my study that is scoping review on review articles. I was just curious if there is an extension for scoping reviews on reviews, but seems no.
