I have been using FPLC using Unicorn 5.3.1 for the last two weeks with no problem. This morning i am having trouble because i am getting an error 2000. After turning everything off and on again we got a new message saying unable to connect to system 1. If persistent try restarting the computer, system and the CU. How do i restart the CU? or how do i fix these errors on my FPLC?

The CU is the control unit, I have attached a picture of what it looks like. It's basically the computer unit.
This error 2000 is usually caused by a bad component, often it's the mixer, sometimes the CU itself can be the issue. If restarting the machine fully (including the CU-950) does not work, you should try to contact people specialising in AKTA maintenance like Holmes Analytical or Cytiva.
Is the CU950 connected via USB or Ethernet? I have found the Ethernet connection to be more reliable. It does require an extra ethernet card in the computer though. It could be as simple as a bad USB cable. If restarting everything (including the PC) and waiting a few minutes before trying to connect (to allow all self tests in the instrument to finish) I would change the USB cable. Also chect the control lamps on the CU950. After starting up the lamps will be flashing but after a while first the PC and then the System lamps will become steady. This can help pinpoint where the issue is.
