I will give here some Examples of Field measurements in geotechnical engineering:
1. settlement of foundations (shallow and deep) under static and dynamic loading, 2. pore pressure in the foundation of dams, 3. Skin friction of shafts and tip resistance of piles, 4. displacements of retaining structures (e.g. Tilt and sliding of gravity retaining walls during earthquakes) 5. Settlement of embankment dams at different levels and in the foundation, 6. Performance Of all kinds of geotechnical structures, 7. Deformation of cut slopes and embankments on highways, 8. displacement of slopes under earthquake loading, 9. Earthquakes horizontal peak ground accelerations, etc.
