I would like to get genetic algorithm code in Matlab, can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
inbuild tool will be there in matlab... its very flexible.. use command GAtool
of course 'gatool ' is an input command available, but you can try using simple coding in Matlab .
1. Generate your input samples [ manually or randomly using 'rand' command in matlab]
2. Fix your number of iterations [eg 20 or 50]
3. Convert your samples into binary using command 'dec2bin'
4. Perform simple cross over [ two point cross over ]
5. If your sample size is less than 100 you can avoid mutation or else single bit flipping is enough

You also need to provide the cost function and I do not agree that using mutation or not depends on the population size. If your aim is just to understand the behaviour of a standard GA when changing the parameters, ok.
If you need to make any serious application of a GA to a complex problem, much effort than that is needed (maybe implying the design of a new solution coding and the proper mutation and crossover operator).
